طسٓمٓ
Ta, Seen, Meem
Ayah 1تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ
These are the verses of the clear Book
Ayah 2لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعࣱ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ
Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers
Ayah 3إِن نَّشَأۡ نُنَزِّلۡ عَلَيۡهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةࣰ فَظَلَّتۡ أَعۡنَٰقُهُمۡ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled
Ayah 4وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن ذِكۡرࣲ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مُحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنۡهُ مُعۡرِضِينَ
And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it
Ayah 5فَقَدۡ كَذَّبُواْ فَسَيَأۡتِيهِمۡ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُاْ مَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule
Ayah 6أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمۡ أَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوۡجࣲ كَرِيمٍ
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind
Ayah 7إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 8وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 9وَإِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئۡتِ ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people
Ayah 10قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah
Ayah 11قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
Ayah 12وَيَضِيقُ صَدۡرِي وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرۡسِلۡ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron
Ayah 13وَلَهُمۡ عَلَيَّ ذَنۢبࣱ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقۡتُلُونِ
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me
Ayah 14قَالَ كَلَّاۖ فَٱذۡهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسۡتَمِعُونَ
[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening
Ayah 15فَأۡتِيَا فِرۡعَوۡنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 16أَنۡ أَرۡسِلۡ مَعَنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel
Ayah 17قَالَ أَلَمۡ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدࣰ ا وَلَبِثۡتَ فِينَا مِنۡ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life
Ayah 18وَفَعَلۡتَ فَعۡلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِي فَعَلۡتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful
Ayah 19قَالَ فَعَلۡتُهَآ إِذࣰ ا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray
Ayah 20فَفَرَرۡتُ مِنكُمۡ لَمَّا خِفۡتُكُمۡ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكۡمࣰ ا وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers
Ayah 21وَتِلۡكَ نِعۡمَةࣱ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنۡ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel
Ayah 22قَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 23قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced
Ayah 24قَالَ لِمَنۡ حَوۡلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسۡتَمِعُونَ
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear
Ayah 25قَالَ رَبُّكُمۡ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers
Ayah 26قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِيٓ أُرۡسِلَ إِلَيۡكُمۡ لَمَجۡنُونࣱ
[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad
Ayah 27قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason
Ayah 28قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذۡتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيۡرِي لَأَجۡعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمَسۡجُونِينَ
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned
Ayah 29قَالَ أَوَلَوۡ جِئۡتُكَ بِشَيۡءࣲ مُّبِينࣲ
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest
Ayah 30قَالَ فَأۡتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful
Ayah 31فَأَلۡقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعۡبَانࣱ مُّبِينࣱ
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest
Ayah 32وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيۡضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers
Ayah 33قَالَ لِلۡمَلَإِ حَوۡلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمࣱ
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician
Ayah 34يُرِيدُ أَن يُخۡرِجَكُم مِّنۡ أَرۡضِكُم بِسِحۡرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأۡمُرُونَ
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise
Ayah 35قَالُوٓاْ أَرۡجِهۡ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبۡعَثۡ فِي ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
Ayah 36يَأۡتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمࣲ
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician
Ayah 37فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day
Ayah 38وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّجۡتَمِعُونَ
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate
Ayah 39لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant
Ayah 40فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجۡرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant
Ayah 41قَالَ نَعَمۡ وَإِنَّكُمۡ إِذࣰ ا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]
Ayah 42قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلۡقُواْ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلۡقُونَ
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw
Ayah 43فَأَلۡقَوۡاْ حِبَالَهُمۡ وَعِصِيَّهُمۡ وَقَالُواْ بِعِزَّةِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant
Ayah 44فَأَلۡقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلۡقَفُ مَا يَأۡفِكُونَ
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified
Ayah 45فَأُلۡقِيَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]
Ayah 46قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 47رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
The Lord of Moses and Aaron
Ayah 48قَالَ ءَامَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ قَبۡلَ أَنۡ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمۡۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحۡرَ فَلَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ وَأَرۡجُلَكُم مِّنۡ خِلَٰفࣲ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all
Ayah 49قَالُواْ لَا ضَيۡرَۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return
Ayah 50إِنَّا نَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers
Ayah 51۞وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِيٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued
Ayah 52فَأَرۡسَلَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ فِي ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers
Ayah 53إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرۡذِمَةࣱ قَلِيلُونَ
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band
Ayah 54وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
And indeed, they are enraging us
Ayah 55وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ
And indeed, we are a cautious society
Ayah 56فَأَخۡرَجۡنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتࣲ وَعُيُونࣲ
So We removed them from gardens and springs
Ayah 57وَكُنُوزࣲ وَمَقَامࣲ كَرِيمࣲ
And treasures and honorable station
Ayah 58كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel
Ayah 59فَأَتۡبَعُوهُم مُّشۡرِقِينَ
So they pursued them at sunrise
Ayah 60فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ قَالَ أَصۡحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدۡرَكُونَ
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken
Ayah 61قَالَ كَلَّآۖ إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهۡدِينِ
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me
Ayah 62فَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضۡرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرۡقࣲ كَٱلطَّوۡدِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain
Ayah 63وَأَزۡلَفۡنَا ثَمَّ ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
And We advanced thereto the pursuers
Ayah 64وَأَنجَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together
Ayah 65ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
Then We drowned the others
Ayah 66إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 67وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 68وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
And recite to them the news of Abraham
Ayah 69إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship
Ayah 70قَالُواْ نَعۡبُدُ أَصۡنَامࣰ ا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted
Ayah 71قَالَ هَلۡ يَسۡمَعُونَكُمۡ إِذۡ تَدۡعُونَ
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate
Ayah 72أَوۡ يَنفَعُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَضُرُّونَ
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm
Ayah 73قَالُواْ بَلۡ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُونَ
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus
Ayah 74قَالَ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping
Ayah 75أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ
You and your ancient forefathers
Ayah 76فَإِنَّهُمۡ عَدُوࣱّ لِّيٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 77ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهۡدِينِ
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me
Ayah 78وَٱلَّذِي هُوَ يُطۡعِمُنِي وَيَسۡقِينِ
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink
Ayah 79وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
Ayah 80وَٱلَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحۡيِينِ
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
Ayah 81وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لِي خَطِيٓـَٔتِي يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense
Ayah 82رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي حُكۡمࣰ ا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous
Ayah 83وَٱجۡعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدۡقࣲ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations
Ayah 84وَٱجۡعَلۡنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure
Ayah 85وَٱغۡفِرۡ لِأَبِيٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray
Ayah 86وَلَا تُخۡزِنِي يَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُونَ
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected
Ayah 87يَوۡمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالࣱ وَلَا بَنُونَ
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
Ayah 88إِلَّا مَنۡ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلۡبࣲ سَلِيمࣲ
But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart
Ayah 89وَأُزۡلِفَتِ ٱلۡجَنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous
Ayah 90وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِلۡغَاوِينَ
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators
Ayah 91وَقِيلَ لَهُمۡ أَيۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ
And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship
Ayah 92مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلۡ يَنصُرُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَنتَصِرُونَ
Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves
Ayah 93فَكُبۡكِبُواْ فِيهَا هُمۡ وَٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ
So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators
Ayah 94وَجُنُودُ إِبۡلِيسَ أَجۡمَعُونَ
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together
Ayah 95قَالُواْ وَهُمۡ فِيهَا يَخۡتَصِمُونَ
They will say while they dispute therein
Ayah 96تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَٰلࣲ مُّبِينٍ
By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error
Ayah 97إِذۡ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 98وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
And no one misguided us except the criminals
Ayah 99فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ
So now we have no intercessors
Ayah 100وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمࣲ
And not a devoted friend
Ayah 101فَلَوۡ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةࣰ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers
Ayah 102إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 103وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 104كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
The people of Noah denied the messengers
Ayah 105إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ayah 106إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينࣱ
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ayah 107فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 108وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 109فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 110۞قَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤۡمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلۡأَرۡذَلُونَ
They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]
Ayah 111قَالَ وَمَا عِلۡمِي بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do
Ayah 112إِنۡ حِسَابُهُمۡ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّيۖ لَوۡ تَشۡعُرُونَ
Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive
Ayah 113وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
And I am not one to drive away the believers
Ayah 114إِنۡ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرࣱ مُّبِينࣱ
I am only a clear warner
Ayah 115قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمَرۡجُومِينَ
They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned
Ayah 116قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوۡمِي كَذَّبُونِ
He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me
Ayah 117فَٱفۡتَحۡ بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ فَتۡحࣰ ا وَنَجِّنِي وَمَن مَّعِيَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers
Ayah 118فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship
Ayah 119ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا بَعۡدُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones
Ayah 120إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 121وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 122كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٌ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Aad denied the messengers
Ayah 123إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ayah 124إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينࣱ
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ayah 125فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 126وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 127أَتَبۡنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةࣰ تَعۡبَثُونَ
Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves
Ayah 128وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَخۡلُدُونَ
And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally
Ayah 129وَإِذَا بَطَشۡتُم بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِينَ
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants
Ayah 130فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 131وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
And fear He who provided you with that which you know
Ayah 132أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنۡعَٰمࣲ وَبَنِينَ
Provided you with grazing livestock and children
Ayah 133وَجَنَّٰتࣲ وَعُيُونٍ
And gardens and springs
Ayah 134إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمࣲ
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day
Ayah 135قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡنَآ أَوَعَظۡتَ أَمۡ لَمۡ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡوَٰعِظِينَ
They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors
Ayah 136إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
This is not but the custom of the former peoples
Ayah 137وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
And we are not to be punished
Ayah 138فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 139وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 140كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Thamud denied the messengers
Ayah 141إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ayah 142إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينࣱ
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ayah 143فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 144وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 145أَتُتۡرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death]
Ayah 146فِي جَنَّٰتࣲ وَعُيُونࣲ
Within gardens and springs
Ayah 147وَزُرُوعࣲ وَنَخۡلࣲ طَلۡعُهَا هَضِيمࣱ
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit
Ayah 148وَتَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتࣰ ا فَٰرِهِينَ
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill
Ayah 149فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 150وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
And do not obey the order of the transgressors
Ayah 151ٱلَّذِينَ يُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا يُصۡلِحُونَ
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend
Ayah 152قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَحَّرِينَ
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
Ayah 153مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُنَا فَأۡتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful
Ayah 154قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةࣱ لَّهَا شِرۡبࣱ وَلَكُمۡ شِرۡبُ يَوۡمࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day
Ayah 155وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءࣲ فَيَأۡخُذَكُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمࣲ
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day
Ayah 156فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصۡبَحُواْ نَٰدِمِينَ
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful
Ayah 157فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 158وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 159كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
The people of Lot denied the messengers
Ayah 160إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ayah 161إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينࣱ
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ayah 162فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 163وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 164أَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلذُّكۡرَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Do you approach males among the worlds
Ayah 165وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمۡ رَبُّكُم مِّنۡ أَزۡوَٰجِكُمۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٌ عَادُونَ
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing
Ayah 166قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡرَجِينَ
They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted
Ayah 167قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَالِينَ
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]
Ayah 168رَبِّ نَجِّنِي وَأَهۡلِي مِمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do
Ayah 169فَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ
So We saved him and his family, all
Ayah 170إِلَّا عَجُوزࣰ ا فِي ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
Except an old woman among those who remained behind
Ayah 171ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
Then We destroyed the others
Ayah 172وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم مَّطَرࣰ اۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned
Ayah 173إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 174وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 175كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ لۡـَٔيۡكَةِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers
Ayah 176إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ شُعَيۡبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ayah 177إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينࣱ
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ayah 178فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
So fear Allah and obey me
Ayah 179وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 180۞أَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡسِرِينَ
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss
Ayah 181وَزِنُواْ بِٱلۡقِسۡطَاسِ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمِ
And weigh with an even balance
Ayah 182وَلَا تَبۡخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِينَ
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption
Ayah 183وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ وَٱلۡجِبِلَّةَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
And fear He who created you and the former creation
Ayah 184قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَحَّرِينَ
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
Ayah 185وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars
Ayah 186فَأَسۡقِطۡ عَلَيۡنَا كِسَفࣰ ا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful
Ayah 187قَالَ رَبِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do
Ayah 188فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٍ
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day
Ayah 189إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ayah 190وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 191وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds
Ayah 192نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلۡأَمِينُ
The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down
Ayah 193عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنذِرِينَ
Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners
Ayah 194بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيࣲّ مُّبِينࣲ
In a clear Arabic language
Ayah 195وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِي زُبُرِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples
Ayah 196أَوَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُمۡ ءَايَةً أَن يَعۡلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُاْ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel
Ayah 197وَلَوۡ نَزَّلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضِ ٱلۡأَعۡجَمِينَ
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
Ayah 198فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنِينَ
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it
Ayah 199كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكۡنَٰهُ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals
Ayah 200لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment
Ayah 201فَيَأۡتِيَهُم بَغۡتَةࣰ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not
Ayah 202فَيَقُولُواْ هَلۡ نَحۡنُ مُنظَرُونَ
And they will say, "May we be reprieved
Ayah 203أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
So for Our punishment are they impatient
Ayah 204أَفَرَءَيۡتَ إِن مَّتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ سِنِينَ
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
Ayah 205ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ
And then there came to them that which they were promised
Ayah 206مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُمَتَّعُونَ
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided
Ayah 207وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
Ayah 208ذِكۡرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust
Ayah 209وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتۡ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
And the devils have not brought the revelation down
Ayah 210وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُمۡ وَمَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able
Ayah 211إِنَّهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلسَّمۡعِ لَمَعۡزُولُونَ
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed
Ayah 212فَلَا تَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُعَذَّبِينَ
So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished
Ayah 213وَأَنذِرۡ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ
And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred
Ayah 214وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers
Ayah 215فَإِنۡ عَصَوۡكَ فَقُلۡ إِنِّي بَرِيٓءࣱ مِّمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing
Ayah 216وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ayah 217ٱلَّذِي يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
Who sees you when you arise
Ayah 218وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِي ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
And your movement among those who prostrate
Ayah 219إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing
Ayah 220هَلۡ أُنَبِّئُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend
Ayah 221تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمࣲ
They descend upon every sinful liar
Ayah 222يُلۡقُونَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ كَٰذِبُونَ
They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars
Ayah 223وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them
Ayah 224أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّهُمۡ فِي كُلِّ وَادࣲ يَهِيمُونَ
Do you not see that in every valley they roam
Ayah 225وَأَنَّهُمۡ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفۡعَلُونَ
And that they say what they do not do
Ayah 226إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرࣰ ا وَٱنتَصَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْۗ وَسَيَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَيَّ مُنقَلَبࣲ يَنقَلِبُونَ
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned
Ayah 227
